BOOF’S CORNER: News today 28 Oct 17 - SCORE UPDATE
Quick score update from around the grounds see's the ESA team from Cameron Rd Mt Barker in some strife on a very sticky wicket and dark clouds imminent.
The new skipper after arriving thru the back changeroom door, looking resplendent in his crisp new creams and raised collar addressed the media with a communique πpromising great results once he had settled in at the crease. Little did he know the strengths, or lack of, his team would have him ducking and weaving and having to defend too many toe crushing Yorkers, many from his team mates. He just didn't expect that the opposition bowling would be so tenacious and the fans so unforgiving. So much so that he's moved to the infield to avoid the constant heckling and can throwing from the outer. π³π£π£π€π
The International team π€has added insult to injury thru their demands for more funding and uncontrolled spending on an aging team with little energy and only their next overseas tour in mind. βοΈπΌππ Don’t they know he's batting 4 men short and a team of bowlers who keep throwing up full tosses, the odd poorly disguised wrong un and keep running one short.
The EO has dug herself in and covers her stumps admirably, no need for any of that protective clothing its full on attack, the size of her bat is in question but there's not an umpire anywhere that's going to take her on, no one, not one umpire or official will take her on.π‘πΉ
A glance at the scorebook sees her on $98900 in the Legal and professional fees tally in her innings, by now with Work in Progress she's made her ton!!πππ’πΎππ
Oh, hang on the official scorerπ΅ has missed some obvious mistakes in the latest score book, seems that scores transferred from the old score book to the new have some unanswered discrepancies. Seems like one of the team was missed off the first team sheet and has been added after the team was announced, and last year's score sheet just doesn't add up! πππ
How can that be, the scorer based his team rules on those of the ACB major sponsor the CBA, haven't they had a Stella year and a pillar of society .πΈπ°π.I think I've answered my own question, lot of similarities really.
I think the horse has bolted π
More updates to come, until then, keep your eye on the ball!

BOOF’S CORNER: News today 30 Oct 17
Wow,I hear my 1st Banter was published by some dude named John O'Leary ,apparently JO is also known by the name MrHP π΄ and solves a lot of Horse Problems,I understand he gets around in a big cowboy hat π (best I could do) and has never been chucked off a horse but I'm told he has a hell of a time trying to stay on a ladder or a roof! π€
Someone told me that explains his sometimes crazy ways and opinions, anyway it's great he has an opinion and like me doesn't deal in fake news.π
I dropped into the Grays Inn yesterday for an ale or two π» and to watch the mighty Winx take on all comers in the Cox Plate. π½ It turns out there were a lot of horsyπ΄ types there and the Grays Inn is only a few doors up from the Clubhouse in McLaren street so I was overloaded with Winx and nodsπ on a few other happenings.
Apparently there's a gathering at the Clubhouse Monday night, could be an AGM and the annual draft for players to boost the skippers team ,the problem is nobody knows and they aren't welcome anyway. Ive been told if they take out the Boardroom table and directors chairs there's standing room for 14 people.π¨π©π¦π¦π©π©π¦π¦π¨π¨π§π¦π«π€
The draft is going to be interesting, apparently there's only one nomination, some snoozer by the name of Pete Graham, been around for a while, your attacking full back typeπ½ able to hold an end up in the lower orderπ,bowls just short of a length, knows the rule book and throws in the odd sledge or six.π€π€As it turns out a few of the skippers lot have memories like elephants ππand have been on the end of a sledge or twoπͺ and don't want him in the side,ππΌmaybe by coincidence, more likely by design, there's a letter βπΌturned up from some Fitter and Turner crowd from up north saying Pete's been a naughty boy.πΉ.....one too many sledges....someone had it on their phone yesterday, looked pretty benign to me.π€
The other word around was the skipper has called a captains pick and recruited someone to help out the team scorerπ΅ ,someone that knows the difference between a "4 " and a "6" and gets the scores right before he signs the score off at game endπ,someone that doesn't get excited just because the new scorebook looks different, someone who just might say f____ we've lost again.π
Anyway, don't want to spoil all the fun for those 6 or so that might go.
Once again, keep your eye on the bal!,π
